International Nursing Students
Today's nursing student has plenty of options available to choose from. Make sure you choose a nursing programs that suits your career endeavors and your individuality. If you're interested in getting your education in the US, there are several things you should consider. English language skills are highly important, especially if you want to enroll in a MSN or other advanced degree programs. Students will have to pass a NCLEX examination and that requires strong English skills.
You may want to know that nursing requirements vary greatly from one state to another. International nursing training may be required even if you have a nursing degree from your home country. It's best to apply to a number of institutions, in different locations. This way you will make sure that you get accepted and the U.S consulate in your home country won't question your reasons for coming to America.
Most international nursing universities and colleges will require the TOEFL exam. If you're planning to become a practicing resident in America, you will also have to take the TWE and the TSE, and probably the MELAB battery as well. Once you have been accepted, the next step is to get an F-1 visa. After that you can pursue your education and become a nurse!
